Everyday Life Butter Yellow Flavoured

In Warsaw’s Wola district, an apartment portraying the individualism and creativity of its residents was brought to life – designed with attention, consistent in colour and harmonious. Its central point is the kitchen in the shade of Butter Yellow – bright, warm and unconventional. This delicately buttery colour brings a breath of optimism to the interior and creates an atmosphere of hospitality.

“The colour of the kitchen is appetising, but not overwhelming. Perfect as a background for our everyday life.”

The kitchen, planned from the outset as the main place of everyday life, was to be not only functional, but also personal. Its IKEA-based layout was to support daily rituals: presence, closeness, preparing meals together. It was important for children to be able to freely participate in cooking and for the whole to create a natural stage for family interactions.

The soft lines of the island, made of curved panels in the Wave model, attract attention from the very threshold. It serves as a visual focal point of reference in the entire kitchen layout. To counterbalance, the remaining kitchen cabinets are in the Modern model, which is a calm background.

What’s worth noticing, is that the kitchen fits perfectly into the character of the entire apartment, its colour, almost a sculptural form and finish are a natural extension of the expressive but coherent palette of the interior. Salmon marble on the countertop and a cobalt lamp provide the space with character, but it is the details that create its identity.

The owner himself introduced an additional touch by making a hanging shelf and a plinth under the island from stainless steel. This contribution made the project even more personal. A space that was not accidental, but authentic, was created – one that just feels right from the beginning.

The project was implemented not with haste, but with a great deal of attention. It turned out to be true to the original vision, but the final effect exceeded expectations, a kitchen that fulfilled not only expectations, but also dreams. “We were surprised that it turned out so beautifully,” emphasise the owners.
