Warm Modernism in the Shade of Honey Oak

There are shades that can completely transform the perception of wood. The linchpin of this project is the Honey Oak shade – a honey-like tone that brings out only the finest in oak veneer. It’s an expression of warm modernism, where the rawness of the material meets the depth of colour, creating a sublime, yet authentic space.
The warm modernism of the Honey Oak shade is a balance between the honey colour of the wood and the rawness of the natural material.
Colour as matter
In this project, colour is treated as more than just a pigment. The Honey Oak shade acts as a catalyst: it enters into a dialogue with the oak veneer, flawlessly bringing out the natural warmth of its grain. This colour doesn’t mask the wood, but celebrates its uniqueness. It adds a cosy touch to the kitchen without losing its nobility.
Classic Rhythm: Hem model and Hem Pattern
The saturated shade of Honey Oak is encased in the frame of the Hem model, creating a nod to classic craftsmanship. This pattern acts as a visual frame, allowing the natural oak structure to shine through. The smooth fronts, complemented by the vertical milling of the Hem Pattern, enliven the design depending on the angle of light.
Flow geometry
A focal detail in this project are the curved panels that complete the kitchen island. This deliberate break from geometric rigor gives the massive oak block a visual lightness and becomes a more natural, welcoming element of the home space. The soft line of the side not only completes the design aesthetically but also provides the honey-coloured oak with a completely organic dimension.
