Warm browns harmonising in Paris 7th arrondissement

In an apartment located in Paris 7th arrondissement, Ysaline Daguy and Ambre Temim of AY Interior Design have created a space that redefines true elegance. Through consciously selecting materials and shapes, the interior exudes depth and contemporary character, proving that a uniform colour scheme can create a multidimensional effect.

American Walnut, with its deep, warm shades of brown, consistently creates a coherent aura in the interior.

The focal point of the kitchen is the combination of complementary materials. The light quartzite countertop, with its soft texture and subtle veining, provides a counterpoint to the elegant American Walnut veneer fronts in the Stripe model – a fusion of nature and craftsmanship, creating a subdued yet unique composition.

Texture and dimension

American Walnut from the Norwegian Wood collection, with its deep, warm shades of brown, perfectly complements the overall colour palette of the entire apartment. In order to provide the cabinetry with a more dynamic identity and avoid an overly traditional feel, the designer chose veneered fronts in the Stripe model. Vertical stripes, subtly milled into the surface, tone down the distinctive walnut grain, adding a three-dimensional and contemporary character to the space. The texture of the fronts ensures that even large cabinetry doesn’t feel overwhelming, but rather gains uniqueness and visual lightness.

Well thought out space and visual depth

The kitchen design, based on the IKEA system and enhanced with American Walnut fronts, demonstrates how to maximise the potential of a small space. Large units, strategically placed on the side, open up the perspective and create a feeling of spaciousness. A low section of cabinets with a worktop at the entrance invites you in, emphasising its functional and aesthetic layout. The use of personalised kitchen fronts allowed the designers to fully realise their vision.

The dining nook, naturally extending the space, features cohesive materials to create a smooth transition between different areas, lending the entire space a welcoming and harmonious feel, perfect for everyday living.

In the kitchen, every element – from the choice of stone, through the texture of the fronts, to the layout of the cabinetry – works seamlessly, creating a cohesive and refined space.
