For Anna and her family from Berlin, the move to sunny D\u00e9nia is more than just an address change. On the coast of the Alicante province, surrounded by nature, they have built their place on earth with a sense of balance and harmony. <\/span><\/p>

What prompted the decision to move from Berlin to the Spanish city of D\u00e9nia, and how did it impact your lives?<\/strong><\/p>

In 2022, we made the life-changing decision to sell our house and move from bustling Berlin to the serene Spanish city of D\u00e9nia. The Mediterranean surroundings, abundantly bathed in sunlight, the refreshing sea wind and the contagiously positive energy of the inhabitants gave us the sense of balance that I have always wanted for our daughters. Being able to live between the mountains and the sea and work remotely from the warmth of our beloved home has been the biggest vision of ours coming to life.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

What was designing your new home like?<\/strong><\/p>

Moving to Spain made us face many challenges, especially adapting to local design regulations and staying within a budget. I didn’t want to compromise our vision for a new home. After some daunting difficulties in communication with local companies, finding FR\u00d8PT was a turning point and Natural Oak<\/span><\/a> fronts became the perfect canvas for our kitchen.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Can you describe the kitchen design process and what influenced it?<\/strong><\/p>

The kitchen is the heart of our house – the space where we all come together as a family and where we host our friends. Its design was intended to reflect our new life and values. I wanted to capture all the emotions and my passion for the Mediterranean style in order to combine the principles of both a minimalist and modern interior as well as make it align with the surrounding nature.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Why did you choose warm minimalism when designing your new interior?<\/strong><\/p>

It seemed to me a natural choice for our interior. Warm minimalism embraces simplicity, natural materials and a calm colour palette. This style allowed us to maintain the spacious and bright character of the house, eliminating clutter and distractions. The focus on clean lines and a minimalist approach resonates with our desire to create an elegant place to live.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

What made you choose Natural Oak fronts from the Norwegian Wood collection?<\/strong><\/p>

My choice of fronts was dictated by the desire to introduce organic and warm elements into the kitchen. Oak<\/span><\/a>, with its natural grain and warm tones, adds authenticity and blends perfectly with the rest of the house. It is also in accordance with sustainability that is important to us – veneer is a durable and environmentally friendly material.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

There is a Norwegian Wood shelf above the kitchen cabinets. What role does it play in your design?<\/strong><\/p>

The shelf<\/span><\/a> is a personal exhibition, showcasing objects that connect our old and new lives. The vase, found in the house, reflects the soul of its history with its deep, warm brown and raw shape, perfectly fitting into the space. Next to it you can spot salt shakers that I bought during my stay in Berlin.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For us, it is far more than just a functional space. It is a reflection of our journey and personal history. Creating a harmonious balance between design, aesthetics and personal meaning.
